Construction of Berg kitchen sinks – found out that it is a good choice!

The kitchen sink is one of the most essential spaces in the kitchen. Choosing the right sink is an important issue, it will have a direct impact on every household member. The functional use of the available space and the selection of the right design are among the most important aspects to pay attention to.

The BERG brand offers many types of sinks, which differ in material of construction, shape, number of bowls and their depth, drainer and installation method.

Kitchen sink size and design – remember to consider your own needs, lifestyle and kitchen size when choosing a sink. Currently, 1-bowl sinks with or without a drainer are very popular. This is due to having a dishwasher in the kitchen, which more and more Poles are using.

Type of material – BERG offers sinks made of:

– granite,

– granite + glass

– ceramic,

– stainless steel.

The type of material has a direct impact on the comfort of use, each material has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Granite and ceramic sinks – are extremely resistant and resilient to: high temperatures, scratches and discolouration. They are made of a mixture of 80% selected aggregate and 20% resin. The use of such proportions has a direct effect on: resistance to mechanical damage, discolouration, thermal shock, impacts, high temperatures and scratches. We do not have different finishes or decorations here, but in the case of granite and ceramic sinks, we will have a choice of different colour versions.

Steel sinks – are valued for their protective qualities against high temperatures and all kinds of mechanical damage. They do not crack or develop deep scratches. They are hygienic due to the ease of cleaning. Here, it is important to remember about regular care but also to wipe the sink dry. This will avoid unnecessary stains.

We distinguish between the following types of steel:

– smooth,

– linen texture,

– brushed steel with PVD coating.

Mounting methods for kitchen sinks – sinks differ not only in colour or material. The mounting method is an important issue already at the kitchen design stage.

We can distinguish between mounting methods:

– inset – this is the most popular form of installation, used for wooden or chipboard worktops; to install the sink, the required hole needs to be cut and the sink needs to be set according to the instructions,

– overlay – guarantees the simplest and quickest installation, it is enough to place it on the cabinet and then seal it with decorative strips.

– undermount – are gaining popularity due to their extremely attractive appearance. This solution is increasingly used in made-to-measure kitchens. For installation in the vast majority of cases, we need a conglomerate, granite or sintered worktop. We cut a hole according to the instructions and mount it from underneath to the kitchen worktop. Thanks to this application, we have no protruding edges above the kitchen worktop.
